New mama & her babe

JoAnne and I got to meet the Ray baby last night. She is precious. Just peaceful and sleeping a lot. I can't remember the last time I held a baby that small. Congrats again RJ & Kristy.

Sunday Fishing

On Sunday afternoon Trey, my dad, and I went out on the Columbia in my dad's boat to test our luck on the last day of spring Chinooks (salmon). We had no luck, but it was fun to be out there. There was some nasty weather, more hail, rain, and snow. The boat is covered and we had the heater going, so nice!

We made it

We had a great send off on Friday night with a few ex-co-workers and friends. It was really fun. Then we got up at 7:00am on Saturday and started cleaning the house. It went pretty well. We started our drive at 11:30. After 6 hail storms and a few food and caffeine stops, we pulled into Boring around 6:30. I was exhausted.
Sunday morning we unloaded most of the stuff into our Boring storage unit. I am so impressed with how much space is in our 7x10ft unit. The rest of our stuff is at our parents house. We will be hauling it up to Ripplebrook (where our Forest Service housing is) on Sunday.

2 more days of work!

I am so excited for the changes that are quickly coming our way. We started packing on Sunday afternoon (after we got back from 2 nights in Coos Bay). I don't think it will be too bad. I just need to find someone to help us move the big stuff. I reserved the U-haul and have a storage unit lined out in Boring. Tomorrow is my last day of work.
When we got to Ashland on Sunday, the temperature said 80 degrees. Yesterday, Monday, we went for a run at 6pm and it started snowing. We woke up to an inch of snow covering everything. Crazy weather.
Well, I am off to stay busy for the next 7.25hours.
Have a good one!

Trey and I both got jobs on the type 2 fire crew on the Clackamas River District on the Mt Hood National Forest.
We both put our 2 weeks in today.
We are excited for the change.
We will be leaving Ashland on April 19 (anyone want to help us pack/move?)
We start the new job on April 28th.
