Weekend in Central Oregon

March 7-9

So fun! Great friends! Nothing better.
We drove to La Pine on Friday and stayed with our friends Joey & Shannon and got to see our friend Andrew (who is on R&R from boot camp in the Marines). On Saturday we went skiing/snowboarding at Bachelor. It was SO fun. Incredible day. Thanks Andrew! 4 inches of fresh snow and sunshine. I have sore muscles still, I love it, a great reminder of my fun weekend.

We headed to the Tappan's place in downtown Bend for dinner and drinks. We almost had the whole group: the Tappan's, Conoway's. Hodgson's, Andrew, us Traver's. Then we went over to Holly's place (she is a FS employee, worked with Zig Zag hotshots). It was great hanging out with a bunch of FS employees, made me miss it.

I love listening to NPR at work. So much randomness and interesting topics to learn about and make the time pass quicker. Today I listened to an especially random clip and got a HUGE kick out of it.

Summary: This man, Matt, from Virginia, beer drinker of the year, has a beer resume (been to 454 breweries in 16 countries). In his will it says he is to have his body cremated and his remains used in a beer that will be served at his funeral. He has asked his wife to say at the funeral "Matt is more apart of you than you think."

March 5th Update

First of all, I can not believe that is March! WOW. It has been a few weeks since I have said anything. (no pics again, soon)

[feb 22-24] 2 weeks ago we went up to Portland. My friend Kristy had her baby shower (Congrats! she is having a girl & is due in a month). It was my first baby shower. It was fun. I liked hanging out with a bunch of women and saying cute a lot. haha. The food was great! :) Trey did a kayak trip with a few of our friends from Bend (Zig Zag Creek to the Sandy River). Wonderful time. It was a great weekend, we spent time with friends and family. Mom and I shopped, Kathleen and I went for a nice run, JoAnne, Syd, Rachel and I ate some awesome Mexican food. Rachel is engaged, congratulations!

[march 1-2] Last weekend we had a few friends stay with us on Friday night (Mike, Chelsea, & Josh, great to see all of you!). They and Trey went to a reggae show in town. I hung out with my girl friend Linds, whom was also visiting. It was a nice, relaxing weekend. On Sunday we went Cross-country skiing with the Thalman's (Mark, Danielle, Shannon) up at Buck Prairie (30min drive / 5mile loop). It was great!

I am learning to kayak. Over the last couple months I have gone to 5 pool sessions at the college. You bring your boat here and practice rolling it and different strokes. I have my roll down. Next step is to get out in a river. I am excited to try it out there, cold, moving water. Fun!

I am looking forward to this next weekend. I am a weekend warrior. YEAH!! haha This weekend is daylights savings. So soon, I know! I love it though. I am ready for longer days and warm weather!
